Lost Your Hyundai Key? Replaced On-Site in Honolulu

Elantras and Sonatas fill the rental lots and the UH parking structures; Tucsons, Santa Fes and Palisades fill the driveways in Mililani and ʻEwa. Hyundai keys are cut by code and programmed on-site — including the newer models with the 2023 anti-theft software update.

Double Quick Locksmith cuts the blade by VIN code and programs the new key to your Hyundai’s immobilizer in the van — at your driveway, the beach lot or the office garage — in one visit. No tow to the dealership, no waiting for a key to be ordered. Part of our Hyundai locksmith service; see also Hyundai key programming if you still have a key that stopped working.

Hyundai Key Types by Model Year

  • 2007–2015 Elantra, Sonata, Accent, Tucson, Santa Fe, Veloster (turn key) — transponder key, cut by code and programmed to the immobilizer. Note: some base models of this era have no immobilizer at all and just need a cut key.
  • 2011–2019 flip-key models — remote flip key with transponder; we carry the blanks.
  • Push-to-start Sonata, Elantra, Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade, Kona, Ioniq (2011+) — Hyundai smart key, programmed on-site including all-keys-lost.
  • 2020+ models and Ioniq 5/6 EVs — newer smart keys; we program them with current Hyundai security access.

Not sure which you have? Text us a photo of the key or the year and model, and we tell you the exact price before we roll.

What to Have Ready for a Hyundai Key Replacement

  • Proof of ownership — registration, title or insurance card showing the vehicle, plus a photo ID. NASTF rules require it for every key we make.
  • The VIN — on the dash plate or the registration; we cut the blade from it.
  • Any remaining key, even a broken or non-working one — it can turn an all-keys-lost job into a cheaper duplicate.
  • Where the car is — we work hotel garages, beach lots, Costco and Ala Moana parking structures; tell us the level and stall.

Hyundai tip: if your 2011–2021 turn-key Hyundai had the free anti-theft software update, it still takes a normal programmed key — the update changed how the car starts, not how keys are made.

Hyundai Key Replacements We Do Around Oʻahu

Hyundai replacements are split between rental Elantras and Sonatas in Waikīkī and at the airport, student Accents and Velosters around UH, and Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade smart keys for families in Mililani and ʻEwa Beach. Keys are cut by VIN and programmed on-site — including cars that had the 2023 anti-theft software update, which changes nothing about how we make the key.

Yes. All-keys-lost is our most common Hyundai call. We cut the blade from the VIN and program a new key to the immobilizer on-site, then erase the lost key so it can no longer start the car. Bring proof of ownership and a photo ID.

Hyundai turn keys are usually done in 20–40 minutes; smart keys 30–60 minutes including all-keys-lost. Arrival is typically 20–30 minutes in urban Honolulu and 30–40 minutes for Kapolei, Mililani or Kailua.

Usually, and faster: the dealer needs the car towed in when every key is lost and often orders the key. We carry Hyundai blanks and programming equipment in the van and quote one number up front.

No. The 2023 software update stops the car from starting without a key present, which is exactly how a properly programmed key works. We make and program keys on updated cars the same day.

Yes — rental customers in Waikīkī, Ko Olina and at the airport get an itemized receipt for reimbursement, and we erase the lost key from the vehicle so the rental company has nothing to worry about.
