Kia Key Replacement Honolulu

Kia key replacement and programming in Honolulu

Lost Your Kia Key? Replaced On-Site in Honolulu

Fortes and Souls in town, Sorentos and Tellurides out west, Sportages in every rental fleet — Kia is now one of the top brands on Oʻahu, and a lost Kia key usually means a flip key or smart key that has to be programmed, not just cut.

Double Quick Locksmith cuts the blade by VIN code and programs the new key to your Kia’s immobilizer in the van — at your driveway, the beach lot or the office garage — in one visit. No tow to the dealership, no waiting for a key to be ordered. Part of our Kia locksmith service; see also Kia key programming if you still have a key that stopped working.

Kia Key Types by Model Year

  • 2006–2014 Rio, Forte, Soul, Optima, Sorento, Sportage, Sedona (turn key) — transponder key, cut by code and programmed. Some base models of this era have no immobilizer and need a cut key only.
  • 2010–2019 flip-key models — remote flip key with transponder; we carry the blanks and pair both halves.
  • Push-to-start Optima/K5, Sorento, Sportage, Telluride, Niro, Carnival, Seltos, Stinger (2011+) — Kia smart key, programmed on-site including all-keys-lost.
  • 2020+ models and EV6/EV9 — newer smart keys; we program them with current Kia security access.

Not sure which you have? Text us a photo of the key or the year and model, and we tell you the exact price before we roll.

What to Have Ready for a Kia Key Replacement

  • Proof of ownership — registration, title or insurance card showing the vehicle, plus a photo ID. NASTF rules require it for every key we make.
  • The VIN — on the dash plate or the registration; we cut the blade from it.
  • Any remaining key, even a broken or non-working one — it can turn an all-keys-lost job into a cheaper duplicate.
  • Where the car is — we work hotel garages, beach lots, Costco and Ala Moana parking structures; tell us the level and stall.

Kia tip: the 2023 anti-theft software update does not change how keys are replaced — updated cars take a normal programmed key the same day.

Yes. All-keys-lost is our most common Kia call. We cut the blade from the VIN and program a new key to the immobilizer on-site, then erase the lost key so it can no longer start the car. Bring proof of ownership and a photo ID.

Kia turn keys are usually done in 20–40 minutes; smart keys 30–60 minutes including all-keys-lost. Arrival is typically 20–30 minutes in urban Honolulu and 30–40 minutes for Kapolei, Mililani or Kailua.

Usually, and faster: the dealer needs the car towed in when every key is lost and often orders the key. We carry Kia blanks and programming equipment in the van and quote one number up front.

Yes. The update makes the car require a programmed key to start, which is exactly what we make. No difference in price or time.

Yes — rental customers in Waikīkī, Ko Olina and at the airport get an itemized receipt for reimbursement, and we erase the lost key from the vehicle so the rental company has nothing to worry about.
