Subaru keys get lost in the places Subarus go: the Lanikai Pillbox trail, Makapuʻu tide pools, the Kaʻena Point lot. When the Outback or Crosstrek key is gone, we come to the trailhead and make a new one there.
Double Quick Locksmith cuts the blade by VIN code and programs the new key to your Subaru’s immobilizer in the van — at your driveway, the beach lot or the office garage — in one visit. No tow to the dealership, no waiting for a key to be ordered. Part of our Subaru locksmith service; see also Subaru key programming if you still have a key that stopped working.
Not sure which you have? Text us a photo of the key or the year and model, and we tell you the exact price before we roll.
Subaru tip: on turn-key models the transponder and the remote are programmed separately — a key that starts the car but will not unlock it just needs the remote paired, not a new key.
Subaru keys disappear where Subarus go: Outback and Forester keys lost at the Lanikai Pillbox and Kaʻena Point trailheads, Crosstrek smart keys drowned at Makapuʻu tide pools, WRX keys left at a Kakaʻako bar. We drive to the trailhead or the lot, cut the blade by VIN and program the new Denso smart key or transponder there.

Yes. All-keys-lost is our most common Subaru call. We cut the blade from the VIN and program a new key to the immobilizer on-site, then erase the lost key so it can no longer start the car. Bring proof of ownership and a photo ID.

Usually, and faster: the dealer needs the car towed in when every key is lost and often orders the key. We carry Subaru blanks and programming equipment in the van and quote one number up front.
Rarely. Salt water corrodes the board within hours. We program a new smart key and erase the drowned one from the car so it cannot be used if it dries out in someone else’s hands.
